Free Edition Architecture
All new organisations are created on the Free Edition. The Free Edition Edge Delta agent is a lightweight daemonset that you install in your Kubernetes cluster along with your app or data source. It is designed with log management and analytics for agile and scaling teams in mind. The agent is deployed with an API key that it uses to communicate with the Edge Delta back end. You use the Edge Delta web app to configure the agent and view log data that it and your other agents gather and produce.
A common initial workflow is to
- install the agent using the quick start,
- set up alerts,
- invite some users to your organization, and
- explore the Edge Delta Interface.
Quick Start
You can install the Free Edition of the Edge Delta agent in a Kubernetes cluster using Helm. This is a good way to get familiar with the product before moving to more demanding or complex architectures.
The Free Edition Edge Delta agent has the following prerequisites:
- A Kubernetes cluster, preferably containing a workload.
- Helm.
If you don't have a Kubernetes cluster or Helm, but you want to see how Edge Delta works, you can create a local Kubernetes cluster and install Edge Delta for testing purposes using the following instructions:
